Coronavirus Updates

Update 3/19/20

Ripley Rendezvous is being postponed until this fall.

The Minnesota National Guard has shut down the usage of Camp Ripley to all non-governmental agencies that are not critical to health and safety from now until May.

We will communicate a rescheduled date as soon as we are able.

Update 3/18/20

The Central Minnesota Council service center and Scout Shop in Sartell along with Parker Scout Camp will be closing at the end of the day today until Monday, March 30th.

Our staff will continue to work to support Scouting remotely. To reach a member of our team, visit and go to the council staff directory under the About Us tab to find contact information.

The mainline council voicemail will be monitored throughout our closure.

We will continue to post the latest updates as needed here and on the council website along with activities and resources that you can utilize at home.

We can't wait until we can resume regular Scouting programs so we can share in the positive energy and enthusiasm of our Scouts and volunteers.

CMC Coronavirus Message (3.16.2020)

The Central Minnesota Council cares for our Scouts, volunteers, staff and alumni. Health
and Safety is our first priority. In light of the rapidly changing landscape with regards to
COVID-19 (Coronavirus) we wanted to make a statement and give updates on council

As many of you know, Scouting happens locally and our units vary greatly in number of
members. We are recommending that the unit work with your charter partner/meeting
location as well as look for suggestions and recommendations from your local Health
Department. All Scout leaders should encourage volunteers and Scouts to stay home
when ill. Covering coughs and sneezes, disinfecting door handles and other frequently
touched surfaces, and proper handwashing are all things that can help prevent illnesses.

With the current situation and the recent announcement by the CDC to reschedule events
with 50 or more people, we will be postponing/rescheduling the following events:
Pantown Pinewood Derby - Mon. March 16th – will be rescheduled
 District Pinewood Derbies – Mar. 21/28 – North Star, Gateway & Pine Tree
    Cancelled; Scenic Rescheduling
 Bears/Webelos Lock-in @ – Mar. 28/29 - cancelled
 Pine Tree Volunteer Dinner – Postponed
 Pine Tree Lock In - Cancelled
 Other events will be evaluated as we get closer to the date.

Please check back for more details about these and other events.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates. Our leadership team will
share information via e-mail to Central Minnesota Council members should the need arise
to close or postpone any other District, Council, or Program activities.
