Alpha Lupus, Kota, and Qannik

These different program camps run during each

weekend session. Cross country skiing and snow

shoes are introduced at every level. Join our Staff!

 

Session One        January 21-23

Session Two        January 28-30

Session Three     February 11-13

 

Check-in is 5:30-6:30 PM at the Administration building. 

Bring gear to the castle for Friday night sessions, then

to the dining hall for breakfast and program.

 

Registration Fees

Alpha Lupus, Kota High Adventure, & Qannik

$35 per person

 

Kota Extreme

$45 per person

 

Registration begins November 1, 2010.

Full payment is needed at the time of registration.

 

Annual Health and Medical Record - required for all camps

 

 

Alpha Lupus

For first and second time campers. Alpha Lupus is

open to any registered Scout, Scouter or Venturer.

This weekend winter camping school is designed

to teach the basic skills needed to operate a safe

and fun outdoor winter program for your own unit.

(Max. of 32 per weekend)

Camp Qannik

For first and second time campers. Camp Qannik is

our ladies encampment following the guidelines of the

Alpha Lupus program. Plus other fun outdoor activities.

This is our second annual ladies winter camp and it's

expected to fill up quickly. (Max. of 12 per weekend)

Kota High Adventure

For experienced winter campers only. You must be

at least 14 years old to participate in the shot gun

and outdoor programs. Gourmet meals, quality

camaraderie, and a merit badge or two are included

in this experience. (Max. of 24 per weekend)

Kota Extreme

For a select group of 12 experienced Scouts.

Interviews will be conducted to get into this elite

program. They will to be totally on their own in the

vast expanses of the Great North Woods. This group

of young men or women will travel from outpost to

outpost utilizing all the skills they have learned.

Ski planes will be utilized as part of this session.

For Cub Scouts and Webelos Scouts only.

Cub Scout Astronomy Belt Loop Workbook

 

The first 32 scouts will spend a weekend in the Castle, with plenty of outdoor activities, adventure, and advancement.

 

Learn to cross country ski, snow shoe, make crafts, and observe nature. Play games like capture the flag, snow golf, or broom ball. 

 

Plus, for the Webelos age Scouts, we will present information on winter survival and how to stay warm

and dry in the Minnesota winters.

 

A hot lunch, dinner, and breakfast will be provided for this Saturday to Sunday excursion.

Klondike Derby

All Troops, Crews, & 2nd Year Webelos Dens only.

Klondike Derby is a winter skills event that includes training and competition! The Klondike Derby relay is a team competition where Scout Patrols compete against each other. Scouts are divided into patrols of eight and each patrol uses a scout-built dog sled which is pulled by Scouts instead of dogs!

Check-in at the Admin Building from 8:30-9:20 AM.

 

Registration Fees - 50% Less Than Last Year!

  -  $10 per Scout

  -  First 2 Adults FREE!  Additional leader only $5!

Pre-registration is required, no exceptions.

Fee includes:  Saturday lunch, camp fees, patches,

                                   & the Great Klondike Sled Race!
